Michigan Persian Students Association

Hi everyone, my name is Tonya Ozbeki and I will be your PSA president for the upcoming year! I'm a senior studying Biopsychology, Cognition, Neuroscience who hopes to go to dental school soon! This will be my fourth year in PSA so I'm super excited to be on board and to meet all of our new members. This year in PSA you all can look forward to forming new friendships with great people, embracing Iranian culture, and a lot of dancing!

My name is Dave and I'm a senior Biochemistry major. This is my second year in PSA. Originally from Chicago, but Ann Arbor has won my heart. Other than PSA, I'm interested in research and a variety of sports. I am of Polish and Danish descent, so many of who may be asking what I am doing in the PSA. After forming close friendships with a few Persians, I really embraced the cultural traditions (and food!!!) of Iran. I know some Farsi (mostly swear words) and am looking forward to an awesome year learning more about Iranian culture. Khoda Hafez!

Hello! I'm Nasim Emamdjomeh. I am a junior studying chemical engineering, and I hope to someday become a patent lawyer. My favorite college experience so far has been studying abroad in Germany. I’ve visited Iran a few times and love seeing my extended family there. I’m super excited to create great events and put on an amazing cultural show for PSA!

Hi! My name is Alborz, and I'm a sophomore studying Computer Science and Spanish at the University of Michigan. I am a member of the PSA board, and this is my second year participating in our club. Doing the Persian Culture show last spring was one of the highlights of my freshman year, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone, Persian or not. Outside of PSA I am also involved in 180 Degrees Consulting at the University of Michigan, and enjoy attending campus events in my free time.

I'm Shayan Golafshani, a Persian from the Southwest. Albuquerque, New Mexico to be specific. I'm a sophomore that will be studying data science. I love gheimeh and Akbar-Mashti bastani (ice-cream). I also love playing Fifa and joking around in Farsi with my very limited vocabulary ;)
